Meet Vashti Kanahele - Functional Medicine Health Coach
Vashti is a certified holistic health coach through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute. Vashti has pursued further education in Hormone Health, Environmental Health, completed the Fix Your Period Apprenticeship, and is working towards her Functional Medicine Practitioner certification. She holds a BA and MSHS.
Her journey with complex chronic illness, miscarriages, and feeling passed over by the medical system led Vashti to change careers and become a health coach. She believes that crap food, toxins, and stress are a big reason why we struggle and is on a mission to help as many people as possible get better and stay better.
Vashti works with clients with complex chronic illnesses, including thyroid disease, Hashimoto's, mold illness, Lyme, and other autoimmune conditions. Vashti doesn’t subscribe to a one-and-done method, but rather that each individual she sees is unique, and therefore, their coaching experience is based on their bio-individuality. She is constantly researching new methods to meet clients where they’re at to help them regain vitality. Vashti is passionate about bringing a blend of naturopathic and functional care to clients and believes the best outcomes come with a doctor/coach model.
Vashti has been an expat for 12 years, and while it has its challenges, she can’t imagine living life any other way. She has lived in Baghdad, Beirut, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Lagos, and Willemstad.
Outside the office, you can find Vashti on her mountain bike, hanging out with her family & friends at the beach, and exploring new places. Vashti currently lives in Willemstad, Curacao, with her husband, two daughters, and two rescue dogs.
Meet Dr. Fox - Naturopathic Doctor
From an early age, Dr. Fox recognized his desire to help people and an interest in the natural world around him. Having spent the majority of his life traveling, he was exposed to many different ways of life and health. It was during his studies in Belgium that he first discovered naturopathic medicine.
He went on to complete his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University, one of the world’s preeminent universities for natural medicine, in 2014. Following this, Dr. Fox completed a rigorous CNME two-year residency in Bellevue, Washington.
His approach integrates a variety of medical systems in diagnosing and treating persistent/chronic Lyme disease, mold biotoxin illness, CIRS, metabolic disease, hormone imbalances, autoimmune disease, as well as improving wellness in those who are healthy. Dr. Fox is passionate about LGBTQ medicine. He has achieved advanced training in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and advanced intravenous (IV) therapy.
Dr. Fox serves as the Medical Director of Lifted Beauty + Wellness with a passion for delivering root cause medicine for the dermatological conditions our clients have. By combining state of the art technology with natural aesthetic products, clients are treating root causes of disease and removing obstacles to cure, restoring their wellness, which is evident both internally and externally.
When he gets to take off the white coat, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest. Having moved to the northwest from Baltimore, he finds himself amazed at the sights and smells of such a lush and beautiful landscape. He has a fondness for eating as locally as possible. Cycling, yoga, and trail running are some of his favorite ways to stay active.
