For most of my adult life I was on the diet train. Starting in college when I got my first diet book, to my mid-30s. Trying one diet and then another to see if it was the perfect match for me. I would constantly berate myself because I wasn’t happy with how I looked and how I felt. I just wanted to feel confident and good in my body. But the migraines, joint pain, PMS, sinus problems, and stubborn weight continued. So I tried diet after diet - on the search for the magic bullet that would finally work! I tried eating less, counting calories, exercising more and harder. I did Weight Watchers, meal replacement shakes, Atkins, South Beath Diet, The Zone. You name it, I tried it!
Each time I went on a new diet, I got excited because I thought “this time will be different.” I’ll feel better, lose some weight, stop having headaches, and get some energy back. Things would start off positive in that I lost a little weight. But all the while I was suffering on these diets. I was hungry and deprived. I was grumpy!! Any my hormones were suffering too.
But that’s not the worst part. I wasn’t losing weight because I wasn’t eating right or exercising, I wasn’t losing weight because I was eating the wrong foods for me. The wrong foods for my bioindividuality, which was causing me to hold on to inflammatory weight. But I didn’t know that just yet. And so the cycle continued.

My low point was a diagnosis of Lyme disease followed by Hashimoto’s. I realized that I had been treating my symptoms separately for years with pills, supplements, naps, anything that worked. I knew I didn't want to be defined by Hashimoto’s and Lyme disease or have to take prescription pills for the rest of my life. I wanted to feel good and have energy to do fun things with my family.
That’s when I decided that there HAD to be a better way.
I made it my life’s work to study the science about food, functional nutrition, hormones, and the interconnectedness with our body.
